15th Annual Alumni Club Picnic Draws Record Crowd

The alumni picnic, on August 26, 2001, was a great success.
1966 Classmates Front Row L>R: Sandi 'Apps' Hilliker, Sharon 'Lutz' Veatch, and Donna 'Chinelli'McKeown. Back Row L>R: Ron Holcomb, Marilyn 'Schneider' Fisher, Bill Rattee, Lee O'Bryan and Andrea Wulf.
A record number of alumni, family and friends were in attendance, which helped us to raise the funds needed to increase our scholarship grants for the 2002 recipients. The 50-50 raffle collected $674. The entire amount was deposited to the Scholarship Fund, due to the generous donation back to the Club, by the holders of the winning ticket, Sandi and Al Harris Also, a special thanks to all of the patrons who helped us to sponsor our first Chinese raffle.

As has been the case with each reunion picnic, the crowd increases in size each

year, even in inclement weather. Several rain showers throughout the day did nothing to dampen the attendees' spirits. The Class of 1961 celebrated their 40th reunion, with a record turnout of twenty nine.

Jasper Terzo once again dazzled on the grill and everyone enjoyed the food. The band FOGG provided the musical entertainment, as we welcomed the new class of 1976. A special tribute was paid to Mr. Howard Richards, with the Club President, Chris Fletcher, making the presentation.

Your Alumni Committee continues to work to make this event the best it can be.

If you have never attended, you are missing a fun day, filled with old and new memories. Even more fun is in store, if you encourage other classmates to also attend.

The 2002 Picnic will be held on Sunday, August 25th starting at 12:00 noon at Steffens (Fraser) Park. The registration fee is S10.00 per alumni family. The band FOGG will again be with us, and will start playing this year at 4:30 P.M. Please remember that no glass containers are allowed in the park. Please plan on joining us.

Finally - A Website!

Our Alumni Club now has a website... FHS25PLUS.ORG. When I started working on the alumni data base last year, I noticed that even with all the information we have on file for our alumni, we did not have e-mail addresses. Being a super huge fan of the internet, I started looking into getting our own site, a site for all alumni, with current news, all year long. My dream has become a reality as the website is now up and running. We plan to include our entire newsletter on the site that will include color pictures. You are now able to register on the site and include personal information along with your e-mail address. If you register, you will be notified via your e-mail address everytime something has been added to the site. Take a look. New information and new features are being continually added.

Robert Moats, Class of 1967, is our web technical advisor and has done a fantastic job in putting it together. THANKS BOB!

We'd love to hear your comments and we hope you enjoy the site!
