September 2004 - Through Colorado 2 - Heading Back to Michigan The story continues... Voyage home continues... We continued on toward Denver. A few pictures of that part below.

My Photo Scrapbook Leaving Las Vegas, through Colorado... pictures captured off video camera, quality is not the best We found the town of No Name, really! Another mountain tunnel, a very short one. Many colors of mountains and coming to the double deck roads. Some more of the double deck roads through the mountain pass. More tunnels.... This one was a looong one, almost a half mile underground. We drove up and up and up and finally up here at Vail Summit, 10,660 feet up. That was a mixture of rain and snow we were going through.

We traveled on through the miserable rain and snow and got to Denver around 9pm just as the rain ended. I tried to call Ray Zink but got his answering machine. We drove around what turned out to be West Denver and found a gas station that had gas for $1.65 and filled up. To get to Denver we found was 20 miles south of our position and we passed on it, so we drove around the back of a shopping plaza on the side of a hill and camped for the night, and the rain had stopped so it was a pleasant evening. Around 6am Ray called my cell phone and said he had to work that morning, but invited us to visit his wife. We decided to make up for the frequent breakdowns and lost time and declined.
